What we want do

A hospital for children and families in Las Galeras

Here at the foundation it is our goal to provide professional health care for the community of Las Galeras. The foundation already owns a piece of land next to our school Las Ballenitas. Here it would be possible to build a clinic providing the care that the children, women and the people in this area so desperately need. Especially for the children a hospital is of importance, as most of them are suffering from malnutrition.
Health care is very poor here. There is one ambulance, but the small hospital in the town of Samana is nearly an hours drive away. A local first responder at the health center is vital.
We would like to provide free health service with high quality equipment and staff that include doctors from different areas in medicine.
With each donation we will come a step closer and move forward to succeed.
Plan for hospital in las galeras

The plan

We want to achieve building a hospital on the 2269 square meters of land ajacent to the school grounds.

Our goal is to open a clinic that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides basic healthcare to the community as well as specialized treatment by trained professionals.

Opening such a hospital in the Dominican Republic requires fonds of about 3.5 to 4 million Dollars. We already have collected donations of aproximately half a million dollars for this cause.

Medical services for the community

We are aiming on providing all essential medical services everybody should have access to:

  • Pediatria
    Healthcare for children, including all basic vaccination and follow up on the child´s development 
  • OB-GYN
    Regular check ups for women, medical assistance before, during and after pregnancy
  • Emergency services, ER
  • Dermatology
  • Traumatology
  • Oncology
